Spring is God's way of saying,
"One more time!"
- Robert Orben
It's the end of the year--30 days left until graduation. What an amazing year it's been for the Library! We went from working in a basement with all the books in boxes to this beautiful space that has been able to make some great contributions to the Forman community. More and more students have been checking out books for pleasure and coming the Library to learn how to write research papers. Thanks to Ms. K-M's website (http://formanlibrary.wikispaces.com), students have been able to check what their homework assignment is, find good sources for their research papers, and much more. For the first time in my experience we have actually had students competing for the Library award! Thank you to ALL OF THE FORMAN COMMUNITY for supporting the Library and allowing us to support you!! Also, congradulations to the Class of 2008--you did it!!
Give me my degree and let me go!
Release me from this prison of the mind!
All I know is all I want to know,
Depending on the wisdom of the wind.
Unburden me of words and numbers, please!
Allow me to hang out and do my thing.
To learn best, I should best be at my ease,
In touch with what in life makes my heart sing.
Open up the world so I can see
No further than I need to be just me.

Reviews of our Library books
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
On his first day of high school Junior discovers that his Geometry text book was also used by his mother—that’s right, the school on the rez hasn’t gotten new textbooks in over 30 years. So Junior decides to start going to Reardan high school—the all-white school in the town next to the rez. His former friends (not that there were a whole lot of those) consider him a traitor, and fitting in at his new school is no picnic either--the only other Indian there is the mascot. He attacks this new challenge with wit, humor, and a strength no one expected--least of all him.
Graduation isn't gradual.
In fact it's quite abrupt, a sudden shock.
It's more like rushing towards a waterfall:
One moment we're afloat, and then we're not.
Sure, we see it coming up ahead,
The water roaring into the abyss.
We make a joke and look away instead,
Unable to acknowledge what this is.
And then the moment's past, and we're the same.
Everyone is smiling, sunny bright.
Someone kisses us and calls our name,
And then we think, well, everything's all right.
But life is like that: things get smashed inside,
And we don't even know it. Foolishly,
We think we're in it only for the ride,
Yet mourn for all that can no longer be.
